Heading up that way around early January, can anyone give me the favoured launching spots on both sides of the peninsula please. Also the perils of sailing in that area....or even a suggestion of a better location.

You guys are freakin' me out. So is the surf side better?
The option is the Noosa coast....but I hate CROWDS (and the Noosa scene)...hard to avoid at this time of year....honestly I'd rather stay home and save the 9 hour drive but I have family commitments up that way and I want/need to have a sail.
I'll have both Kona 1 and the Xcross with me, any more suggestions of where to sail?
