I sent a sail to a guy in newcastle, from melbourne last year and cost $48, cant remember who the freight co was. Now smartsend wants $108 from Melb to Qld - seems like a lot of $.

smart send is the cheapest i have found.

received sail from sunshine coast to Sydney just over $30, i think it was 38 including insurance. it arrived the next day. That was picked up and delivered to door

as opposed to pack and sends quote of $90

TransDirect (www.transdirect.com.au/) seem really well priced. I'm just about to get a board sent using them, the online quote was cheaper than SmartSend.

Hi Guys- I think this might help you if you try out the new webjet of freight - Fairly sure I cant post the link as I just joined up ..its called courier quotes ( comes up number one in google for the same - Im sure one of the regs could verify then post the link for newg...basically just enter your sizes into the calculator and then it compares heaps of couriers. Ego is hunter express and smartsend is allied - they are both on the above calculator + about 50 more couriers ...see for different areass couriers have different prices hence just pop your post code in and you will see

Anyway just trying to contribute

I had good experience as well with Transdirect.com for both sails and boards. Great door-to-door service and quite easy payment online all done within 5 min.
Good / fair prices

transdirect

Everything is online - order, pay, print, leave sail by the door, go to work (ie no driving to drop-off depots).

Cheapest prices from my comparisons.

I sent some sails from NSW to WA using them and they did a great job. I packed them well, and I spent as much on insurance as the freight cost, but it was still cheaper and easier than sending them on the plane.

E-go, ridiculously cheap if sent from depot to depot, around 50% cheaper than door to door. Ask the seller if they can drop it off to a depot close to them, depots are listed for every state, city and towns.
