That's not a lull Hardie, this is a lull! I can't even see the water start on your tracks. You've got to come to the east coast to experience a real lull.
I can still remember my Mum's amusement when we visited my grandfather in Mt Pleasant almost 50 yrs ago. A shark siting at a local beach had made front page news! "What is it with sharks over here she said" she said. Back in Melbourne a shark siting on a local beach made page 5 if at all. Must admit it was a big shark, 3 ft in diameter in 2 feet of water according to the report.
I was just inside south passage the other day letting a bit out outhaul and downhaul off cos it was a bit marginal. Had been treading water for about 15 - 20 sec, then turned the gear around and just as I waterstarted saw a fin cruising about 20m away.
Fin was a good 30 - 40cm high and not a dolphin ![]()
Scary sh!t
Great White sharks are not an endangered species and they should not be protected. They have become a clear and indiscriminate threat to humans across the globe and they need to be culled, if not outright hunted to extinction. As apex predators, they lie at the very end of the foodchain, and their elimination would be largely inconsequential from an ecological perspective.
I suspect you're just trying to wind up internet world but anyway ..

We had to leave the spot today, cops were waving at us cause a shark had been seen circling around windsurfers....![]()
