Hi,

I am looking to upgrade from a JP Supersport to a more serious slalom. What is the best of these two boards for someone who is an intermediate rider?

neither, go for an Exocet SL, half the price new and much more forgiving.

More detail needed.
What size board
What sails
Where are you sailing (water state / wind strength)
Are you racing? GPS speed?
What is your weight
Current models or 2nd hand

CarbonArt. Shipped straight to your door and cheaper than both

The Jp slaloms are off the chain good. The smaller sizes can feel a little hard to sail if not sailing powered up. I have found they are the best board out there if sailing powered up and have a good fin in them. I have tried the isonic's and Carbon arts and they are nearly on par with the JP's so it's up to you.

If you see someone with a board similar to what you are after ask if you can give it a try. Not all slalom boards are alike. You will find some suit your sailing style better than others. I found I didn't like the feel of the iSonics and was able to cross them off the list.

Primary use is Flat Water Blasting, Sails from 6 - 9m, No Racing, 70Kg, looking at either the 110 or possibly 120 range due to lack of breeze lately (not much over 20Knts) and most likely last years models.

Have JP VI's and love them, have also sailed the 2010 SS's and they are no slouches

If you're an intermediate rider then you'll probably get better performance from the SS. The SS is a good performer and you'll only get a little more from the slalom boards with a lot of tuning and the right sails. You may want to look at some fin options for your SS to extend your performance.
