After much careful research and analysis (hahaha, I just used the word "anal" and nobody noticed, hahaha hahaha), I have reached some shocking conclusions:
1. The people on the kite forums can be quite unfriendly
2. Many of them actually think windsurfing is geigh
3. Many of them think they are doing something really cool and we are not
...what do you make of this?
I'd always assumed that a) they are a friendly enough bunch if you talk to them right, b) Everybody knows kiting is geigh, no two ways about it, and c) Everybody knows windsurfing is the coolest thing in the world, and if they don't know then they must surely be wondering WHAT the coolest thing in the world could be, because there are no other obvious contenders...
What's going on????
Be kind to the unenlightened, not everyone is lucky enough to be able to support a full-blown windsurfing addiction

so back to the topic, now i think kiters will only talk to you if you have shorts over your wet suit. its a code to tell the other kiters your gay. they turn freindly and sexy. 
As I posted before, live and let kite. To each his/her own, etc. No right nor wrong. Wank*rs on both sides.
Having said that, I'll still jump over the lines in the water at my local spot, and I'll still trip the lines on the grassy area when they're in the way.

Willie. Your research data would appear to be sound and factual. What we need is additional infomation on the dangleberries. I'm perfectly aware of the danger Nebs. There is a common belief that only the faultless can criticise. Sucks to that. As one nazi to another I expect you'd agree that the tacit acceptance of subhuman juvenile semi literate rudeness is morally lame, a lameness I am often guilty of.
