One of the boys I work with was saying he was down at Kurnell with his wife last Sunday afternoon and came across an injured kiter in the carpark.
He had just launched the kite and was hit by a gust and dragged into a 4wd in the carpark. He put his legs through the back window of the 4wd and bent the back seat and roof, then fell back to the road.
He had deep cuts to his legs and elbow not to mention potential internal stuff.
My mates wife is an ambo so she assisted till the ambulance arrived.
The guy was South African.
Didn't see anything in the kiter forum about it!
I hope the guy is doing ok and heals up soon.
However, folks should know that kiting in a north, north westerly or westerly at Kurnell is VERY dangerous.
Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.
