One of the boys I work with was saying he was down at Kurnell with his wife last Sunday afternoon and came across an injured kiter in the carpark.
He had just launched the kite and was hit by a gust and dragged into a 4wd in the carpark. He put his legs through the back window of the 4wd and bent the back seat and roof, then fell back to the road.
He had deep cuts to his legs and elbow not to mention potential internal stuff.
My mates wife is an ambo so she assisted till the ambulance arrived.
The guy was South African.
Didn't see anything in the kiter forum about it!

maybe cos its like a windsurfer posting-"I rigged my sail today" or "adjusted my footstrap".

Probably the newsworthy bit is that he lived to tell the tale unlike many who try the old carpark freestyle routine.

I hope the guy is doing ok and heals up soon.

However, folks should know that kiting in a north, north westerly or westerly at Kurnell is VERY dangerous.

Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

They're too busy giving each other advice on how to avoid closing beaches because of behaviour.

Hope the guy is OK though, sounds pretty serious.
