Here's some footage from yesterday at Lake Illawarra, With gusts up to 53 knots recorded on wind meters it was a very interesting day. After half a day I could sail no more so I picked up my handy cam and filmed a bit of the action, even with a tripod it was hard to keep the camera still in the windy conditions. It's a bit on the long side but enjoy Lake Illawarra. ![]()
I'm trying to guess what Leo and Keef are discussing? It's called a "duck gybe". You must have pulled that out of the memory vault Teabaggin!
Nice vid Jase. Great effort filming considering how windy it was. Dont know what I was thinking sailing that gust, just possible till I had to gybe not a hope of making that. It was a great arvo ![]()
Awesome stuff, looks great and once the leg heals must make the journey down to have a sail with all you blokes!!![]()

Great video jason thanks for all the effort, that was some ridiculously strong wind in which teabaggin was sailing in , some nice moves by Chris and the the rest of the guys, good turnup for a wednesday afternoon.![]()
Great video as ever but do we really have to sit through your drawn out 48 second intro?? A bit self indulgent isn't it?
Oh and btw, don't listen to me, I know nothing ![]()
Nice Vid.
I tossed up whether to go the Lake or Gerroa.
Gerroa was every bit as windy with the odd Port tack waveride. (Knee high - nothin special)
You guys make it look easy.. Boy I'd love to sail somewhere where it stays that flat in really strong winds..
( in close ..typical conditions out further.)
4.2, 99L freestyle, 18cm freestyle weedy
Probably could have used a 3.5 easily. I could get away with the 99L because it's so flat, plus it slides well and stuff >_>
6.3 was good in the morning sesh early arvo I did stack on the led and water to kep it down ;-) i was out on keefs 5.5 later in the arvo and very happy to be lol !
Thanks..My smallest is 78 which is + 13 of my weight.No wonder I find winds 35kts + tiring & dicey..![]()
