I apologise if this has been asked before, but I am really interested about getting a longboard style wave board, like the Kona 11'5''.
I'm curious if anybody else cruises around on these and takes them out in the surf. I am after a board that can get going in about 10knots, and be able to get me through the waves (extremley small- no bigger then waist) and have a bit of fun.
I used to windsurf a few years back, but gave it away due to the lack of wind for it in QLD, and now kite. But kiting is pretty ordinary until it starts picking up over 12knots, and these boards look like alot of fun to just cruise around in and play in mushy, weak waves.
So if anybody is riding them what sort of size sail do you use and how to you find them generally?
I'm 90kg and I suppose I would be looking at a sail around the 7.5-8ish mark.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Try www.lbws.com.au (longboard windsurfing)

Try an SUP style with rig and no bigger than a 7.0 for your weight. They surf better than a longboard but are slower and don't point high.
