Ok let's say I'm having a winge then...
I sat around the beach (Sydney) for 3.5 hours yesterday waiting for the promised 20+ knot NW. All we got was a few squals with a bit of rain...and it wasn't supposed to rain anyway.. ![]()
Today I'm here at work the the front door is banging open from the wind lashing it's getting, probably the wind we should have had yesterday...![]()
End of complaint / whinge ![]()

don't worry... what's worse is when you are actually looking out over the water from your office. here is my account from last Thursday:
Wind kicks in... drove down to the beach and rigged up... wind drops... back up to go back to work... back at desk wind picks up... drive back down to the beach rig a bigger sail... wind drops again... wait around for a bit cause it looks like the wind will actually pick up... eventually pack up... as I get in the car wind kicks back in with total fury. To late to rig up again.
Result of the day:
- sails rigged 2
- walks to the beach 2
- times sailed 0
- work I got done almost 0
Conclusion:
I am getting very close to not even ever consider to hit the water again in NSW for as the long as the wind comes from anywhere W to NW. Just too frustrating.
Well, I guess I broke my own rules...
... went for a sail over lunch time here in Gerroa... totally maxed out on a 4.2. Wind was W to WNW in the 40+ knt range. I'll be hurting tomorrow...
Thats ok last year i swam for 3 hours back to shore when the 25 knot wind dropped off i had a rant aswell ..Placed pair of flippers into the universal extention when wind seems dodgy now.
You cant predict mother nature!

Hey Des, hope you weren't at la-perouse. We waited at kurnell all afternoon then ended up at la-per for a sail around 4.00. The wind must have looked at the forecast and decided to come in
.
Yep I was at La perouse. On the way home it started to get a litle windier and as I was unloading the the van it seemed to kick in a bit more. But I was over it by then...come on the NE'rs
