I had a 3 hour lunch break today (instead of the usual afternoon off) and for once it was BLOWING...so I jumped in a taxi and hauled @$$ to the beach for a quick blast.

Sure enough it was howling (in a 10-12 knots sort of way) and the sun was shining, and all the usual suspects were already out, blasting back and forth...

Slipped out of the "nice" clothes and into the boardies, rigged up, hit the water, planed through a pack of kids in f###ing Optimists...

...and the wind dropped!

Limped back in, got planing a few times, eventually did a walk of shame and put my gear away, all the while watching the clock...

...super fast showered and changed, flagged down a taxi, hooned back to work with 5 mins to spare.

Dog tired, $20 poorer and having planed for about 1 minute tops, was it really worth it?

An hour on the water in sh!tty conditions is better then an hour at work.

I feel good about it now, but at the time it was mostly stress!

Still, better than hanging around the city while the trees were waving around!
