I have to give a massive shout out and thanks to the people who have helped me with my new windsurfing addiction.
You may have read my post about wacking a mast track in my SUP to start sailing, well with heaps of input from heaps of people I decided to try and get a board to float my 100kg+ weight and little skill.
Carantoc (Jerry) generously gave me an awesome sail, boom, mast base and a heap of education, thanks mate, your a legend!!
Mark Jordan in Port Mac sold me a mast,up-haul rope,195lt board and more education and Phil, have to give you the biggest thanks, for letting me have a crack on you board for my first blast and coming with me this arvo up to Stuarts point, where my 40mt P.B run turned into 6x 400mt runs.
I am having trouble holding my arms up at the mo,so it means I was doing it.
Thanks heaps peeps, loving this sport and the whole fraternities help to get me going,
forever in your debt,
Ian ![]()

Now probs mate, had a ball watching you sail away from bank to bank, I think I was hooning more than you. Now you can see what I was rambling on about- total buzz hey! You got some great help along the way, and that sail and gear from Jerry is awesome, top score from a top bloke by the sounds of it. And Mark, well, he's the man, probably been sailing for longer than I've been alive...lol Man of few words, but what he says is well worth remembering. Thanks for looking after Ian, that Pheonix is ideal for him...cheers.
Sounds like a full North Coast muster is comin' up..lol Glad you had a ball Ian, so did I. Hey, all we needed was a BBQ and some cold burbons at the end and we could of died happy...lol
Cheers mate,
Phil
