G'day All, I am a returning windsurfer after a 15 year break.... the last thing I sailed was a Bombora Zot!! (well tried to sail with mixed success
).
I have been geting up to speed with the latest designs etc. but am wondering what size board I should be looking for, I have been looking at the boards around the 130litre mark. I am about 78kgs.
I would love some advice on matching gear to my body weight, I think I have the board types sorted,

You seem to have been unusually forgotten.
I've only just returned for a wee little bit longer break from the sport than you and this forum has helped me heaps, I'm sure they can help you too if you give us a better idea of your sailing background and skill level, back then. And what type of windsurfing you want to do eg. lakes, bay, ocean or waves and if you're into speed or cruising etc. There'll be smarter heads than me who can point you in the right direction to suit your budget.

Have a long sailing background (dingy sailor originally).
Started on a longboard about 2 years, moved to a Bombora Zot, big mistake I think, stuck with it for about 4 years, couldn't Gybe the jolly thing.
I like blasting and in general just want to have fun for my first season back and take it from there, probably got 2 to 3K to spend at some point. I would rate my self as a well advanced beginner expecting to progress fairly quikly if the Zot was as difficult to ride as I think it was compared with modern board design etc.

Hi VB, where in Tas are you?
Did you learn to waterstart, if so then you might find something around the 100-110L size more fun, and you'll find modern boards easier to learn to gybe on.
Save your money and get a 2nd hand board, you might find that by mid summer you are wanting something different, and spend the savings on a good rig and sails.
Post this in the Tassie section, you'll get some advice on good spots to sail and someone might have a good board for you to buy.
