Yep, those pesky kiters have nosed ahead in the photo count ![]()
And while I'm at it, commiserations to Victorian cricket followers on their narrow loss to TASSIE in todays 1 day final. ![]()

Well at least they've gone for quality over quantity ^_^
Was just a little overpowered on the 5.7 at Shearwater today, think the 38 knot gusts did it. Did the big swim again, that place has me jinxed.
Anyway, after going home and sitting around for 30 minutes got a bit antsy and decided to go back for photos. Took me another 20 minutes to convince my son it was better than watching Thomas The Tank Engine for the 12 millionth time.
By the time I got there everyone had gone, only 2 kiters left. Hey, my photos look exactly like all the photos in the kiter photo section. Funny that.
You guys missed some amateur kiter going through mid life crisis trying to launch in the 35 knot gusts. I don't know much about kites but one guy pointed out that they are not supposed to fold in half, and that he had never seen that brand before, possibly K-mart.
I'm blabbing again. What's my point? Damn Baltica #7 beer (very nice, I recommend)
Oh yeah, I'll take the new d80 with me next time, I promise.
And while we're on the topic of rockclimbing (hey - I can hi-jack my own topic!), for those wanting a crossover recreation to keep fit for windsurfing, climbing is tops. It seems to work all the same muscle groups (unless you hold the boom underhand). I windsurfed in the good old days sans harness, then moved to Victoria for Uni, took up climbing and immediately I found I had the right muscle strength to get right into it. About 12 years later I got back into windsurfing, also sans harness, and had no problems holding down the big old rigs. (Then saw the light and got a harness and modern gear). Only climb every now and then these days, but can still hold my own with the young puppies. I put it down to the same thing - same muscle use. And also climbing teaches you to HTFU ![]()
Speaking of HTFU what were you doing watching the cricket when Dorans was going off. Was fully powered on 4.5 with rain squalls etc coming through ;-)
Anyway - very good to see Tas get the win int cricket too !
Definitely a Taswegian based in Hobart. I was registered a long time ago before this website was revamped and when I reset my password and posted semmed to have become a virtual Sandgroper. Was going to fix once I have a photo for a decent avatar.
Cheers

Sorry Easty had assumed you had been watching the cricket a liitle closer to home :-) Yes, it was gusty but but not as bad as it often is. The wind was from the w/sw and was very windy when the rain squalls were passing and then moderating in between.
Cheers

Thanks, we're back ahead in the photo count - is it possible to sail Cyclops? And TASSIE STILL WON THE CRICKET!!!!!!! sorry, big things mean a lot to little places.
Yep have spoken to you a couple of times. I sail a somewhat ancient sky blue AHD wave board and am pretty hairy. Also have an Exocet Kona which I use occasionally for light wind and SUP'ing:-
