Hi all
My normal method of transport is my ZZR-250. When I windsurf on weekends I use the wifes car but during summer she doesn't get home till late. I want to do more after work windsurfing so I think I need a motorcycle trailer. Does anyone out there have any experience of these for boards?
Jethrow
I see your problem now Jethrow. Your wifes car probably wont go upwind too well. Try using your board on weekends next time. It will save you explaining the damp seats.
Seriously though...
We have been known to use www.classicind.com.au/ and http://www.trailercustoms.com.au every now and then. But they are not cheap. You could buy a car for the same money.
JB
I only use the wifes car for windsurfing as it's easier to gybe than the formula board, but you're right, it doesn't go upwind as well.

I'm a bit concened about your next sentence as well -
"I want to do more after work windsurfing so I think I need a motorcycle trailer"
- apparently they are terrible at going up wind and jibe like pigs (according to the reviews). They also sink unless well powered up, so I'd stick to the wifes car especially on the light wind days.![]()
Well Jethrow, have you learned your lesson yet? Be very careful what you ask, there are many many smartarses lurking here, just waiting to pounce on your every misspelling and incorrect sentence structure.
Of course if you had preceded your post with "I know that I should never post drunk but..." then no-one would have thrown the first stone.![]()
Everyone - It is not time to LEAVE JETHROW ALONE. He has enough on his plate argueing with his wife over who gets the car, and by the sounds of it, he is not hopeful of winning that arguement regularly.
Hi Jethrow,
I can drive your wife to work if you want to use the car and don't mind her 'coming home late'
One of the local guys here in Perth uses a motorbike & trailer.
It looks like an old beer fridge on wheels
Sorry Ross![]()
He made it himself, steel frame covered in wood.
The only problem he has is reversing out of a crowded carpark, good for a laugh.
Oh, and people back into it as they can't see it very well![]()
What about a side car that could work & would be easier to park.
Jethrow,
Why don't you solve the problem by getting youself a van.
- then you could put your wifes car and the motor bike trailer in the back, drive to the beach and use which ever were best suited to the conditions.
- and if the wind drops off completely, you might find the van itself becomes an option. (might get up and plane with a cambered 12.5)![]()

OK, I'm done now Jethrow.
