That was a bloody good show. Very informative but that bloke standing in the water with black gloves on telling everyone dont wear white etc then gets his nice white calf chomped on. I really cant understand why you would want to stand around in water with a bunch of bull sharks bumping into you ![]()
Also that bit on the Brissy river with kids being towed behind a boat, ignorance is bliss I reckon.
I also could not believe the bloke pulling one up on his boat as kids scooted by on their ski's in the Brisbane River, that was bizarre!!
For those who missed the show the lessons were:
-Don't wear shiny stuff in the water as the sharks mistake it for fish
-Don't go swimming with your dog cos they swim too erratic and attract shark
-Don't swim in the Brisbane river
-Make sure you take a big bag of fish with you when you go swimming so you can feed the sharks and keep them happy
-Don't let the sharks get too comfortable with you or they may give you a love bite.
Ok, so the guys are standing there talking about bull sharks in waist deep water and there's a dozen or so sharks swimming around. After a while one of them comes in for a sniff and bites the guy's calf off (you've probably seen that on youtube).
Interestingly, although there's blood everywhere from the remains of his leg, the shark's don't go into a feeding frenzy. When asked about this, the expert claimed that shark's don't get excited about human blood as we're not on their menu. Good to know!
I heard if you wear board shorts over your wetsuit sharks wont attack you, apparently they'll defiantly know your a stupid human.
