Im really disappointed that you guys have not realized the latest in go fast design, you place a 50cm x 50cm x50cm box under your board for extra lift, get with it ppl!!!!!

I will have the last laugh, I wonder why I cant get a board bag to suit

Cheers GT

Mintox, Fyi - I put a JP fibreglass nose-protector on my xcite (after I had knocked it around), found that I still dropped my rig on it, and consequently ended up with a broken mast (nose protector won!). Since removed it (hours of cleaning silicone off board), and fixed the nose... from experience, I'd suggest a soft nose protector instead.

Btw...GOOD looking board!

Grats! Always feel sorry for the second born though. Never has as many photos taken and only gets hand-me-downs.

Cheers Sailhack, good advise and a shame about your mast.

Thanks for the heads up

Great choice, MintoxGT! I have a 130 FWS; the 2007 model. 'Tis the bees knees!

If you're worried about protecting the nose or rails, here's another option for you.

I wasn't initially happy with one of these; the extra bulk over the boom clamp made it awkward to grab the front of the boom when flipping the rig (tacking or gybing).

However, when I laid out the rig on the board, it was evident that the boom clamp could never contact either end of the board; the mast section immediately below the clamp was the threat. I cut off the top bit, added an eyelet and now tie in place with a longer inhaul.

Caveat: I rig with a relatively high boom position. If you rig substantially lower, customising the NP protector as I did may not be good advice. Check first.
