I see there is a Southerly forecast for Sydney on Sunday. I will be on Nth Beaches.
Can anyone tell me if Narrabeen works in Southerly/SE. Got a mate who hasnt sailed for a LONG time who is keen as to have a try.
Where else is good flatwater in Southerly on that side?

Yes it does work on the eastern end of the lake. A SE is better than a straight southerly.
You launch from the northern carpark. Be forewarned council rangers patrol the carpark and issue tickets for vehicles that have not paid for parking.
You need SE to sail at Narrabeen Lakes and the Narrabeen-Collaroy beach area.
You could try Long Reef when the southerly hits and the swell is still relatively small. However wind is quite onshore.

Take off from the north side, the other 2 beaches won't do (offshoring).
All in all, not the best SE spot in town though, you would have more fun on the ocean side somewhere on a SEer.
The original post was asking about flat water for someone who has not windsurfed for a long time.
