Hi All
Thinking of moving to Perth for a while. Just wondering what the alternativies are when there's no wind (apart from going to the pub). Is there any mountain biking, rock climbing, etc close to the city? If so how long does it take to get there?
dont get caught in that trap, get something with a paddle for the bits inbetween sailing, eating and sleeping
If its water activities you want to do apart from windsurfing, there is always time for surfing or stand up paddling![]()
No wind activity?
What's a no wind activity?
I just sail anyway! ![]()
Oh yeah, Elmo is right. Work. My poor, battered body loves Mondays...
Hay el wet one, you up in Vietnam or still in Singapore.?
Just watched a big splurge in TV re Holiday destinations via Getaway, Vietnam, Nar-Tran, looked well laid back![]()
Uh...speakest thou English?
I'm in Singapore; it's well laid back at the windsurf club; can't speak for the rest of the island though.
VN is worth a visit, especially if you like drinkng cheap beer in the sun and haggling with desperately poor people over the price of cheaply made trinkets...the best (ie the windiest and best set up for windsurfing, with at least 3 rental centres) place is Mui Ne, and it's rather very touristic now because of all the damn westerners with their flying tortoises or whatever they call them...it's a really good place for consistent wind, if you want to get some good water time in 20-30kt winds, from oct-april.
I'm drunk, and I need to sleep now...tomorrow's Friday, and the madness begins....
BTW- IRON MAIDEN RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike
There are some really good DH and XC trails around Perth if know where to find them. From Perth you usually have to drive 20mins at least or train and ride. Check out WAMBA website or Perth Mountain Bike Club. The climbing is limited but fun, unless you've been climbing heaps, mainly a few old quarries and bouldering sites with the odd cliff 25m max.
