I was just chatting about this.

We're in the centre of a high pressure system at the moment, so it's not air pressure doing it. The air and water are both 17deg at the moment, so I can't work it out.

16 knot NEer though, I'll take it!

Yes, I am in Perth now and I was driving down the freeway. Not sure what its called but its the big road going along the river for a bit before crossing over into Perth City.

Definately seemed like a bit of breeze and looked like its coming from the SW. I saw some dingies out sailing and they seemed to be going alright. Hey its a great day in Perth. Nice weather. Nice city.

Saw Warilla on the way home from work. Close to mast high and 20 knots cross off. Had about 10 minutes of sunlight left. Really phuked up by not checking forecast

I sailed Bellambi George, was mast high on the big sets and 20+ knots. Got out the back and on the first wave I caught an edge, holy ****, the world just exploded. Had to swim 100+m to my gear after that one (waves were breaking WAAAAAY out the back). Gathered myself up, almost out the back the second time...absolutely munched, swam another 50m to get my gear :| Was okay after that, caught a few monsters but I had my big board so it was sketch. Light was fading so I called it a day as If I got smashed again I'm not sure I would have made it back!

First NE'r of the year, bring em on!
