Isn't there a board called a wave scalpel. Might be hard to sell if they used advertising images like that.
BLOOD RULE-----YOU'RE OUTTAHERE!!!![]()
Never needed stiches (yet), but I have a nasty habit of running my ankles across the fin when getting the sail ready during waterstarts!
When I was first learning, I was dragging a Starboard Start along the beach (they are HEAVY b@$t@rd$) and I somehow dragged the fin rght over my foot...OWWWWWWWWW that hurt
BTW Haggar's foot has TWO distinct cuts - things must've gotten pretty frantic there towards the end!!
Talk about put you off! these blood and gore shots along with all the rest of them shouuld be put under (R)rated and put in ther own section![]()
Hey Haggar. Was the injury from a sharp leading edge or trailing edge, or was it too much of an explosion to know? If it was from a leading edge, does it reallly make a significant difference to speed if it is sharp. I thought the leading edge should be clean, as in no nicks, but it was better to have it finely rounded, rather than sharp. But then, I don't speedsail so I wouldn't really know.
Hey Haggar,
Maybe a cork over the end of the fin would help - just like the cork on Rupreck's (Steve Martin) fork in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. ![]()
Seriously, that doesn't look like it would of tickled. You seem to have a higher proportion of bad luck than the rest of us. I suppose you could of got your google earth track just from the satellite photo - nice blood trail.
I am constantly conscience of this type of injury.
Our Formula fins are very sharp and it is super easy to kick the trailing edge when entering or exiting the water. Now i am going to be even more cautious.
