Noooo, the Monday morning water was bloody freezing and the wind came from whichever direction my back wasn't toward. First north, then east, then west; and too slow to waterstart. It looked strong in the trees, but down on the water it wasn't.

On the good side though, I rigged the 4-cam V8 in one go by putting a cheap Bunnings spring clamp around the mast onto each cam. Sometimes I cannot get it rigged at all without cams popping off.

Pretty ordinary weather to go out in mate there's tree's and power poles getting floored and roofs lifting off houses at the moment your either very keen or very uninformed about the prevailing weather mate be careful

I am just keen, and was well informed about the weather - because I read Seabreeze.com and listen to the radio.

Fact is, the wind wasn't STRONG enough at water level in South Perth, or smooth enough in that location either. In winter it seems like the only way to get a decent wind is sail in bad weather.

Thanks for the tip on Gaastras - I will keep an eye out when the time comes for another sail
