Very sad news, Jerzy Greblicki from Mackay passed away on Sunday from a heart attack while kiting, only in his 50s and pretty fit, Jerzy had been a keen sailboarder and regular at Illawong beach the last couple of years. He recently started kiting as well.
He was a very pleasant guy who will be sadly missed.

Jerzy will most certainly be missed. I enjoyed his company. Any word with respect to the funeral? Liam and I would like to pay our respects. I'm out of town and will need to organise travel.

yes, not good squiddy. Tim, details will be in the d. mercury Saturday for a Tuesday funeral. I've heard there may be a waterside farewell at kite beach Saturday but conditions don't look good atm.

Sad going so young.I hope it was quick. I hope this doesn't sound callous and cliche as it's not meant to be and I know it's no consolation to his family but if I have to go I hope I go quickly from a massive heart atack while sailboarding or doing something I enjoy.

Sad, but at least died what he liked doing. What I want happen to meself, if it must happen.

I wonder what kills people that 'young', that have kept active and fit...

Someone told me a specialist told them that people that are ultrafit are more prone to heart problems as they produce more of a certain hormone or something..I can't remember the exact thing but the side effect of all the exercise is an increase in something that makes them prone to problems.( bit convoluted that sentence..)
I suppose thats one good thing about me getting RSI & being out of action for 6 years as I used to be very active bushwalking cycling , skiing etc etc..probably saved my knees too as my ski buddies knee's have died..
