Is there anyone in the Sydney area that re-grips booms. I have a Pryde X-9 310 boom for the formula board and the grip's coming off pretty bad. I'm after someone that does this sort of thing and how much it costs. I'm not sure I want to do it my self if that's what some of you are thinking. Is it possible to reuse the grip currently on it as it's only coming away, not really damaged.
Thanks
HI Jethro,
We've got grip by the sheet or in kit format. I can do it for you but it cost a bit cause it isn't that much fun to do. Anyone can do it just get the preparation sorted and have the right equipment.
Sam.
I thought X9 grips are covered by warranty? NP had a dud production run, all the grips fall off prematurely, and a Pryde dealer should be able to re-grip with proper NP grip at no charge. At least that's what the dealers in NZ have been doing...
If I had to guess I'd say this boom is at least 5 years old. Just a guess bit I thing the warranty just ran out. ![]()
considering that a broken boom is about as bad as it gets equipment-failure-wise, I'd consider re-grip time to be replacement time...
