Broke a fin on my usual board a few weeks ago and brought out the old bic adadgio for a blast the other day. Went really well actually, so I get home wash it down and the missus starts checking it out like as if she's actually interested. She then confesses that the graphics (mike eskimo psychodelia) look pretty cool and we could cut the board down the middle and attach each half to the wall of our little fellas bedroom for shelfs.

After a little CPR and a shot of adrenaline (and the reality that the board is worth about 3 bucks) I'm wondering what other creative resting places have been thought of or made for that "should be retired" gear that slowly builds up?

Ive seen plenty of surf boards been made into bench seats. They work well. I think a sailboard would best just as good if not stronger.

I have an old wave board that is worth nothing but still in good nick.

My plan is to have it airbrushed with a mural of my favourite spot, finish it well and hang it in the house somewhere.

Plan yet to be approved by the home decorator/wife.
