Repairing modern board

I have taken the plunge and decided to repair my Fanatic Freewave myself. Being practically minded I have no issue with the repair. The biggest concern I have is how you go about ensuring you can match the graphics. On some of the 2010 / 2011 boards the graphics are so complex, I don't see how you could ever finish them so they look like new ?

Trace over them with greaseproof paper and a pencil, label the colours on it also, and take a photo.
Then have fun with colour matching

Sounds like a good idea. But an awful lot of work !!


Now I see why surfboards are plain white. Nice and easy to repair.
