I didn't go to Robe this year and was wondering how it all went? If any one is back yet, how was the windsurfing?
BS
I will post up spme pics soon, but what an awesome weekend, great wind for friday and some of Saturday as well as great surf to play around in,
Some amazing sailing by both windsurfers and kiters, 112 competitors, great support form Onboard, Red Bull, Neil Pride, Cabrinha (why am i saying this I am not sponsored!) seriously fun weekend, if you didnt have a good time there was something wrong!
Susie took some great photos, if you competed and want some photos of yourself sailing Susie will have one of you, email her to get a copy!
One point I wanted to make was the responsibility everyone took in the water. there were lots of people in the water especially Friday, maybe 12-14 windsurfers and 20-30 kiters on one break, I have to thank every one for keeping the peace when it came to collisions (which I only saw one!) It was good to see everyone looking out for each other.
hey guys didnt make it to robe although it sounds like it would have been fun.
i'm new to adelaide. spent most of my time cruising in port phillip bay (melb) with the occasional spash out west up north of Geraldton. I'm having withdrawal symptoms as i havent been for a sail yet. Drove down to henley beach once but it was a bit late and the wind was just swinging SE and weakening so rigged up in vain. i should have twigged by the fact that no-one else was there!!
where does everyone sail? it would be great to sail with a crew - its a bit sad on your own with no-one to witness your crashes...
Sounds like you had an awsome time at Robe Dave wish i could have got there. Still had a good sail at the mouth even though the dredger was in the way of out usual run and has changed the sand banks totally now. Wasn't overly happy with my speed but still alright. We're going to some adelaide sailing club thing this weekend to try out like sailing in a boat and i'm hoping ill be able to take down some gear and get a sail there, even though it isn't exactly ideal spot still have a bit of fun. We'll see.
Wally:
I mainly sail at the murray mouth, goolwa south lake, boggy lake when it's there and probably a bit at milang now. Prefer the flat water, getting into the GPS thing now. You would be very unlucky to get there and not have a group of good guys there to sail with at any of those spots. I don't sail the metro beaches really so Dave can help you out with them but theres always plenty of guys around these other spots.
I won't be sailing for a while now as i'm having some surgery in Melbourne and will be out but will probably catch you around when i start getting back into it asap.
Cheers

Great weekend - despite broken toe and trashed sail, I saw broken booms, a couple of snapped masts plenty of bodies getting snotted on the way out in the no wind zone on the inside, kites and windsurfers goin everywhere and some great sailing
Piece of advice - never sail with one booty over your sore foot and no booty on the other with a huge back strap to fit the booty - ankle snapping is a potential as your whole leg disapears through the strap when trying to get some grip in a jump!
was nice to come home and find the wind was Krankin - nice 4.7m at snaps to end the easter weekend on tuesday.
Didn't sign up before we lefte and missed the coopers bag - bummer and the Onbaoard boys have promised a hoody in the next couple of weeks.
Cheers to Dave and Kim for another junior sail session on theRRD/ Ezzy at Beachport Tom had a ball - I think your young ladies won his heart!
No probs Russ, thanks for the lend of the 400 mast, Kyms weekend would have been ruined had it not been for your spare! As for the blossoming romance between our kids, Tom had better lift his game, she is in hot demand!
Glad you got a sail on way home, we were so tempted to sail at Milang on way home......
A few piccies of the extremely junior windsurfers (under 6) and a big grommet now posted in windsurfing photos!
Great pics. Looks like they were all having a ball. Remember when i was at that stage, some of the best ever fun i had was when i first started moving well and all that. Dave, it's good to see you've gone back to the basics as well.

But I wasnt wearing a wetsuit!![]()
That was my 90kg wrapped in the wetsuit - dave was letting it all hang out in the rashie - biggest loser next year for me!
I also have more hair than you russ, how could Chris have got us mixed up?
Heres me doing some sick freestyle on the junior Ezzy / RRD combo!!
i saw on ABC news last night some stuff on the state of the lake systems with all the talk of water and the murray. it was reporting from milang and it looked like you had to walk out about a mile to get wet! any ideas on how sailable it is? where do you sail from (landmarks?) what is it like in a SW?
cheers
dave
OK I put some piccys up too. Great shots Divaldo!!! Nice one of me.
Mine look really dark on this computer but on my computer look fine?? Anyway maybe its cos I made them really small. If anyone wants a printable size contact me.
Two things i've never understood about kiting, shorts over the wetsuit and riding strapless. The second seems to entirely defeat one of the main draw cards/strengths of the sport...odd.
Great shots though, looks like a top spot.
Nice photos, the photo of the boat sailing near the cliff with the wave out to the right is a great one.
