Get a christmas present from the Feral Government today and Mr Rudd said everyone should go out and spend it.
If you get this payment what are you going to Buy??
If I was in the retail industry, I would be pricing all my electrical goods (e.g. LCD TV's, Computers) around the $1000 mark in anticipation that the majority of families would be spending KRudd's Xmas bonus on a TV.
Bottle shops and pubs will be rubbing their hands with glee.![]()
I'm a dad but divorced from my family.I won't see a cent of that money and i reckon it will probably be spent on sh!t.....nothing that will benifit my child![]()
I'm suprized the CSA are'nt trying to get more money out of me somehow because of the grant![]()
Oh well such is life......
We will be spending it on school fees. Daughter starting high school next year and it will go on some of that.
Any ideas on how I can disguise a new wave sail as text books?????
ain't no way i'll be spending mine as Krud would like. putting it straight onto the credit cards. with the current turmoil debt reduction is the way to go. credit cards fall into the bad debt category so they will be paid off.
KA43 - just buy 4.7m of xply "contact" and 1 roll of normal contact.
text books need to be covered with something. ![]()
What a load of **** this handout is.
Why should dole bludgers, unmarried mothers and pokie addicts get more of my tax money?
My wife and I both work full time and study part time and we've never claimed a cent from the government. We have no debt other than our affordable mortgage and because we have private health insurance we don’t even use the public health system. The economy benefits from people like us who contribute to the GDP by investing in ourselves and making sensible spending decisions.
The only people who deserve this handout are the pensioners who paid taxes all their life and are doing it tough now due to inflation.
Me, pissed off?
You bet.
Pensioners and workers are ripped off big time due to the way the CPI is calculated. The ABS always makes assumptions when they calculate price rises. For example milk may cost $1 a litre. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) assumes the average household buys 5 litres of milk per week and are buying $5 worth of milk a week.
If the price goes up to $1.50 a litre you would think that the price has been inflated by 50 cents wouldn't you? Actually it hasn't according to the ABS. They may assume that the average family may decide to purchase only 3 litres of milk per week, thereby spending $4.50 per week on milk. The ABS then assumes the average family substitutes the missing 2 litres with something else. No one including the ABS knows what this substitute is and its not really that important unless your family was the one who had to substitute milk for water.
So the family has actually saved 50 cents per week due to the price increase on milk. This calculation goes into the 'basket of goods and services' surveyed by the ABS. The CPI measured by the ABS is so inaccurate that the Reserve Bank had to start measuring price changes themselves as they can no longer make calculations based on the CPI.
So as time goes by, pensioners, beneficiaries and anyone else who gets pay rises based on the CPI slowly gets ripped off. Where does the money go? We all have an idea. Twenty years ago governments were all running deficits, now they have surpluses, or did have. Why does this happen? The World Bank and IMF advised western governments to change their measure of inflation otherwise they would go broke paying increased government pensions and benefits, plus workers would get paid too much.
So this $2000 for pensioners is nothing compared to the way their pensions have stagnated compared to price rises.
The way they define families is rubbish too.
What about all my dependents, 5 boards, 7 sails +, all need nurturing and upgrading regularly. Nothing in my bank account.![]()
I reckon single windsurfing blokes like me would be good to give money too , because i would definately go and spend it on stuff.
most likely windsufing gear but it would all be gone by the first weekend thats for sure!!!

With my son starting high school he will need to cover all those books, what better use for old sails, hardwearing covers to protect the investment.
Obviously the money has to be spent to replace my selfless act of generosity.
Sounds convincing to me, yet to try it on the other half.
MESSAGE TO THE AUSTRALIAN PUBLIC
Under our direction, the federal government is soon to issue a $1000 bonus to some of you to stimulate the economy.
If you spend that money at K-Mart, the money will go to China.
If you spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs, if you purchase a computer it will go to Taiwan.
If you purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Vietnam, Honduras, and Guatemala.
If you purchase a good car it will go to Japan.
If you purchase useless crap it will go to Korea and none of it will help the Australian economy.
The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on prostitutes and beer, since these are the only products still produced in Australia.
In anticipation we thank you for your help.
Kevin Rudd & Wayne Swan.
(Australian Prime Minister & Australian Treasurer)

, particularly common in the top end are, reportedly, getting kids paid out 2 and 3 times. Why,
Becasue 2 or 3 generations live together and each kid has "three mothers or guardians" Ridiculous.
Knot board, pretty harsh. but i can't seem to disagree
why shouldn't all hard working people get the bonus. It's not like the government didn't take it from you.
Maybe the bonus should have gone to people who paid over $1000 tax last year.
i contribute to taxes and GDP I have two kids, our money is being spent on them and credit card debts. My kit will sadly remain older than my kids for a few more years yet.
Isn't it all going to be spent on imported goods anyway? Oh well, another couple of $B on the defecit.
Sucked in you lot ![]()
My misuses said that I could have another sail ![]()
