On Friday, one of my staff came back from lunch a bit frazzled.
I asked him what happened and he told me the following...
He had driven down to the local very large shopping centre (Macquarie Centre, Sydney) and pulled into a parking space. His mobile rang and he saw it was his daughter. He answered the phone and started chatting.
Got out of his car in the multi level carpark and went inside.
Talked to his daughter, had lunch, read the magazines at the news agency (we all do) and strolled back to his car.
Put his hand in his pocket for the keys and panicked when he couldnt find them.
Walked around his car freaking that he had lost them in the shopping centre and then looked closer.
Drivers side window was down, car idling nicely and keys sitting there in the ignition!!!!!!!!!!!!
He had left his car going for 40 minutes, it was STILL there and nothing was gone.
In this day and age is that lucky or what???

One of my staff told the following-
Almost no wind to be beheld after driving to the salt water. But wait, a slight stirring of the leaves right at the shore? Out of the car to verify this possibility.
While squinting at the horizon where whitecaps or seagulls might be I was approached by a local seatholder who said "Was that your car that rolled back 20 meters and ended up against a post?"

I thought the ending was going to be something like one of my experiences (tragically, no so long ago).

Went to an afternoon get-together for all the parents of one of my daughter's class. It was held at one of the parent's houses who lived at the top of a hill. My wife and I both drove separately because I had to leave before her, but we needed to get there a bit before everyone else to help set up a few things. I parked a bit further up the hill from her on a very slight gradient.

We went inside, and a few more people started to arrive. A few minutes later, a car alarm went off that sounded a little like my wife's car alarm. I went out to investigate and found the towbar of my car shunted into her number plate. Some knob had forgotten to put their vehicle in park and/or apply the handbrake.

And I suspect that the parent who drove the BMW parked behind my wife's car wouldn't have been too impressed to have 2 tonnes of 4wd roll into the front of their car. Nor would the parents of any kids playing in the street who were mowed down by a driverless runaway 4wd, had there not been something in the way to stop it.

I think HE works in mysterious ways.
