I got the follow email as a reply when I posted my board for sale:
"I am actually trying to get this boat for my first son will be adding a year to his age in about 3 weeks as he has always been a fan of this boat. So I think its worth paying whatever the shipping charges will be just to put a laughter on his face.
As to the price, I will offer you $1300. So if you deem the offer good enough, I will be very glad to make the payment asap through my PayPal account as I am currently offshore and I won't definitely be able to make it to my bank to make bank wires across to you.
As to shipping, you need not worry yourself about how the boat will get to me here in the West Africa as I will contact a shipping company here who will handle that. Anybody else that has received a similar email...?? Must be someone who try to scam me...!!
This is a pretty old scam but usually is only done against more expensive items such as luxury cars.
Just ignore it.
We run a couple of businesses that sell quite expensive items online.
This is so standard.
A gmail, yahoo or hotmail address, no question asked about the product just i wish to pay by credit card and can you ship to africa, indonesia, etc...
You want to beleive its real, but it would be an expensive lesson to learn...
They can be fun to play with though!
