A windsurfer is missing on Victoria's Gippsland Lakes.
Paynesville man Peter Elliman, 59, went windsurfing at Newlands Arm on Tuesday afternoon but did not return home.
His wife contacted police about 6.20pm (AEDT).
Local police, water police and State Emergency Service volunteers began a search, aided by a helicopter, but no trace of Mr Elliman has been found.
"Peter has over 25 years of surfing experience but police are concerned due to the change in weather conditions this afternoon," a police spokesman said.

A windsurfer who was missing off the coast of Victoria's East Gippsland has been found safe and well.
The alarm was raised by Peter Elliman's wife when he did not come home from windsurfing at Newland Arms yesterday afternoon.
Police said the 59-year-old was an experienced surfer but they were worried about how he would fare in a change in the weather.
Water police, the Coast Guard and State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers were involved in the search.
update from link above
"He was found at Ocean Grange, south of Paynesville trying to windsurf back home.
He had spent the night sheltering in a house after being blown across the lake by strong winds"
There are some nice beach shacks at Ocean Grange. Not a bad place to be stranded!
Glad to hear he's OK.
i wonder if he found and used our toilet we lost when we used to camp there in the 70s. there were no shacks back then
it had a fluffy yellow cover on the lid if anyone's seen it ![]()
