Hi guys, any recommendations on freight companies for shipping a board from NSW to WA and also any idea of cost.
I also had major drama's with Transdirect - they won't hve my business again.
I would rather pay double than ever use them again.
Very very poor standard o service, blaming the carrier they used and you can't talk to a real person it is all thru email and they ignore you
Sometimes hard to argue with cheap though...
Have shipped quite a few boards from WA to Vic and NSW To VIC that I had purchased interstate .
I have used E-GO with absolutely no dramas . I always go the depot to depot service as that takes out at least two possible interactions with a courior and the board being loaded ( thrown ) in and out of a van . It also works out alot cheaper . Dont bother with boxes , just a good board bag or even bubble wrap . It seems if they are aware it is a " surfboard " then it gets top loaded and treated it seems more gently .
e-go.com.au has worked at least 10 times for me.
I've had two nightmare deliveries by E-go (damaged and lost in transit) but no dramas with using Transdirect (approx 10+ times). In fact I used to recommend E-Go too until problems and went over to Transdirect from SB recommendations.
Sounds like the whole courier industry is just one big lucky dip.

Might be onto something there. Just got a board delivered from interstate and it arrived with a hole in the bottom. Startrack not good.

+1 for ego.
I've sent and received quite a few items, boards, sups, sails etc and have insisted that they are well wrapped (boxes, bubble wrap) with good signage.
Never had a problem.
I agree with the depot to depot option to minimize transfers.
+1 for e-go.
Same. The depot to depot option makes it cheaper and easy to drop/pick-up when you want instead of relying on the driver's schedule. The quote system online is great and also no one is actually checking on the measurements....![]()

Big +1 on this from me. Never had such poor treatment in my life...google them for some interesting reading

Customer reviews. The interesting thing is there are a lot of positives, but dig a few pages in and you'll see a trend. They don't want to know you after you've paid them your money.
40 rated good to excellent - 67 rated them bad to terrible. 64 overall terrible rating (I will add mine so make that 65) and 32 excellent. What this means is when things go smoothly people are happy. But it would seem that more often than not they are appalling.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were the ones putting the positive comments there. Sort of thing a company will do when there is this sort of bad press. Get all your mates to write a positive review and drown out the negatives.
My advice, don't use them.
