A mate of mine had his 1989 White Toyota Hiace stolen from Strathfield at 3am Sat.17th March.
He had his sailing gear in the back and would really appreciate it if anyone is offered to buy it to contact him (Ken) at [email protected] or PM me.
His gear included:
F2 Stoke 135L board, 5.5 Ezzy SE Wave, 6.0, 7.0, 7.5 & 8.0 2006 Ezzy Infinity sails. All sails were orange & black & were in red bags.
Ezzy 430, 460 & 490 RDM masts
NP 200-260 X9 Boom & Chinook Competition Boom (160-210??)
An array of about 10 fins, a few mast bases, extensions and other bits & pieces.
Thanks for your help, Jeffro

Bastards! I dread hearing about this sort of thing. They'll probably dump the gear somewhere as it's not that easy to resell.

hope it turns up for him.

The theif must of been spewing when he finally realised it wasnt kite surfing gear

Good luck in getting the van and gear back.
Nothing worse than getting your gear ripped off by low life scum.
People who steal ,from those who worked hard to buy what they want, should be delt with like they do in some countries, by chopping off their hands.[}:)][}:)]

GSM/GPRS/GPS Tracker
Lad at work put me onto these. He had an item "removed" from his driveway.
The "removal group" were a little worse for wear about ten minutes after they thought the item was safe and housed ready for a quick sale.

What can be done against the bastards?

Many years ago the red steel bar lock thing on the steering wheel was popular, but we don't see those much anymore...

Some good news
The police have located (and Ken has them, all in good nick) the Board, Sails, Masts & Booms No sign of the van or other gear in the van (fins, mast bases, extentions etc) as yet.
Apparently this guy stored the stuff in his mothers house and his mother rang the police. He was a known crook & has been in jail for quite a few years.(maybe she has had a gutful of his activities).
Whether he was the one that stole the van or was just storing it at the house (for a later sale) is unknown at this stage.
I suspect Ken will find out more about the van & other gear in the near future
Thanks everyone for your interest.

Heard about the $80000 Porsche stolen in Perth a while ago, tracked down by owner using gps in iphone left in vehicle:

Moral of the story - make sure you leave your gps enabled iphone with your precious gear!

Mate of mine got his Toy 2010 stolen at a shopping mall.
Apparently there had been an 'epidemics' for that particular model.

Police called a few days later. They're found an entire container of exactly the same model at the local docks - all the same car! It was ready to be shipped to God knows where.

A bit of damage, but otherwise in drivable shape.
Really bizarre, where do they send those ? (Police won't tell him.)
