I'm back in the game!!!! Went for my first real sail in 5 years on Thursday and had a ball despite the very marginal conditions... (thanks swoosh for the board )

But now my mast base is stuck to my board... Tried spraying it with WD40, tapping with a hammer etc but it's seriously STUCK!!!!

Has anyone got any idea's on how to get the damn thing off?

Big grinder, start at the nose and tail, progresively grind your way to the mast base

I'd stick to tapping it with a hammer. just make sure you are tapping it in the right direction. I think if that doesn't work, you can pull the mastbase appart depending on which one you got.

Do you have the plastic washer between the mastbase and the board? I usually only do my mastbase up one hand tight, i find thats more then enough to keep it in place.

Might have to come up for a sail one day, u guys had wind?!!!

Never mind... just had to harden up! Got it and realised I lost the plastic washer somewhere

We had 14-16 knots for an hour or so... Was enough to plane in the gusts, rest was just messin about with light wind freestyle...
