To get sailing in the shortest time to allow maximum time on water.
In January I drove through a water crossing instead of going the long way around in my work supplied ute and blew up the motor.
Hence no sailing that day.
The worst thing you can do is tell your wife I will sail today and do something with the family tommorow because the forcast is crap tommorow, the wind dosn't kick in as promised by the BOM and u are left trying to get out of the family day

Forgot my harness once at a 4 day comp, which was 6 hours drive from home.
Just lucky for me mate broke his ankle kite surfing on the first day, so I got a harness for the rest of the event.
You guys obviously don't have your families properly whipped into shape.
"What's wrong, honey? Your water just broke? You're having contractions? Don't worry, I'll call you a taxi on my way to the beach"
but if the conditions are so perfect i might as well do it too
Don't 'spose the contractions would cause some swell in the waters, would they? You could go wave sailing if there was some wind. Hang on, that might not be too pleasant.
