Sunscreen for sail protection?????????

I was talking to my slightly retarded Dutch windsurfer friend Norman the other day...

First, he said "In Holland, people never wash - they just don't have the facilities", and I thought "Hmmmm" ...

...then he explained that he was talking about washing SAILS. Oh.

Anyway, he also mentioned that he had heard of someone putting SUNSCREEN on their sails, to prevent fogging (it makes the water bead) and to protect the monofilm from the UV rays. Forgive my lack of scientific training, but is that crap or what?

Use 303 protectant on your sails protects against UV rays,spray and wipe off.

303 protectant?? What's it normally used for?

Btw Norman isn't really "slightly retarded" at all. Sorry.
