Just sitting here watching the Syd to Hob coverage and the tv commentator (not Gordon Bray) has just said the breeze is coming in at 22 knots.... Now I'm no expert but I reckon I have a good idea of what 22 knots looks like. In those conditions, particularly on open ocean where the footage currently is, there would be fairly substantial white caps happening. As it is there is barely one to be seen. I find this ridiculous when you have so called 'expert' commentators relaying information that just isn't true. I reckon the breeze is 10-15 at 'best'.

He's also just given us the length of the smallest boat in the fleet as 30 metres. Never mind. How well does Wild Oats go in 10-15!

If it was 22 knots, we wouldn't have been watching.

I think you will find that Rob Brown was taking about the strength of the Southerly the fleet will face that night.

How good is the finish going to be
27Nm to go and only 0.8Nm in it.
I'd like to see Investec Loyal take it, what with the part time rugby player crew on it against seasoned, high paid professional sailors
