Hi mate
I've got a few 2011 tabou mantas 87 & 100. I believe the speedster has a very similar outline and performance to the manta. I find the boards fast, predictable and very enjoyable in open water using a 3 cam sail. The boards seem to be more suited for ocean and choppy water with a effortless glide over bumps and breaking whitewater.

I find gybing requires a slightly larger arch than other slalom boards but keeps speed well in and out off the turn.

I'm really happy with my tabou's and I'd recommend them

I think they look awesome !!!
Gotta love the comfy foot pads !

Badly wanted one but the dealer didn't demo them... couldn't let the $$$ go without at least trying it

It was a clear winner on the 2013 French mag test. (free race category)
the 69 STD retails here at around 1200$ but haven't seen any on the water so can't comment at all.

Useless post, sorry !!!

You can buy a new Tabou Speedster in New Calendonia for $1200? Is that in Australian dollars?

yep, depending on the currency rate of course (atm would be more 1300), lucky for us (and not for you) your dollar has come down a little
When they landed here the speedsters were at 1500$, 2014 is arriving quick so all 2013 stock has to go !

There is no "middle man" here, all the dealers receive directly from the factories and the market being big locally, competition is tough among the dealers.

Wow that is a really good price!! The best I ever paid for a new board was $1075 but it was a 2 year old model.
