I recently bought a Tenco Limits RDM extension and I absolutely loove rigging my sail with it. The wheels spin easily and I have no problems pulling down.
However, the release button sticks out of the plastic base (red release in picture) which causes some problems. My Ezzy sails have a mast pad which wraps around the mast and extension (including the release button) and a couple of times the release button has been pushed in when sailing resulting in rig and board parting…
Has anyone else experienced this?
Are there any (quick) fixes to this? (other than getting a different extension or sail)
1st option: Take the extension apart, pull out the red button, and see if you are able to grind away some material from the top to make it sit more flush when you reinstall it later.
Most likely you will find the red button wont be thick enough on top to grind away anything, but its worth a look anyhow?
2nd option is to build up the area around the button itself with something so the sail doesnt contact the red button area.
Jb weld is good for this sort of thing, or glue a plastic ring over the area, for example the ring from a coke bottle or something, youll find something around the house for sure

I second the JB Weld.
Take out the red button if you can, sand the black part aggressively as it won't like to stick to thermoplastic, then build up a doughnut of JB Weld around the area.
ended up grinding down the button so that it lines up with the base of the extension.. pretty sure this will work!
