Yesterday a few Australind guys went to visit Hardies as we'd heard so much about it. I felt it appropriate to let you guys know how much it was appreciated to be made to feel welcome. Special note to Marty who took the time to show us the local hazards. It's a great spot you have there, shame the wind didn't do it for us. What a joy not to have to trip over kite lines, and kiters everywhere, going on about how their sunnies match their tan etc. How did you discourage them from sailing there?
Anyway thanks, and sorry but we're gonna visit you again
Just a question,
being from WA....long ago..... where is this place "hardies" you refer to.
Is it Hardy Inlet at Augusta.
Thanks
Climber
Aha... i get the understanding..... simple really,
Thanks Grumplestiltskin.
I know also understand the recent post re; elmo and cobblers, destruction of fins and equipment on shallow obstacles. Spent a lot of my youth and not so youthfull days speed skiing on the estuary and sailing out front of Mandurah
cheers
Climber
The thing with hardie's run, is the trees at all the launch spots. makes it very off putting for kite's.
Kiter's beach at wannanap is much better for them.
I had a great wave sail with the local kiters today, for quite a while I was the only windsurfer amongst half a dozen kites, no problems at all.
We were all at the same break and sharing the waves between us. No conflict, good fun.
But we were all focused on the waves, so we knew what each other was likely to do.
It's a bit different mixing a windsurfing speed run with kiters in and out tricks.
