check out the windrose for winter. thursday island the clear winner, cairns takes second.

dont think id be sailing at thursday island.

too many bities of the leather handbag variety up there.

Was going to say what Troppo said, plus with the tides / currents up there break something and next stop PNG, if you're lucky.

...I know a guy who spear fishes up there...lots of local knowledge though!
