Hi Guys,
We were lucky enough to have Jack McCoy drop by some copies of the digitally remastered "Trade Winds" movie yesterday.
Great guy, great movie and such a classic look at the sport back in 1984. Very cool.
Below is a quick overview of the movie from taken from Jack's website.
"The wave sailing film. It too is a cult classic today in windsurfing circles. Starring the great Robbie Naish, Mike Waltz and world speed record holder at the time, Fred Haywood. Filmed on the Hawaiian Island of Maui, Trade Wind takes a humorous look at wave sailing as if the footage was 200 years old. Homowavesailer had evolved from caveman to today. Outstanding original soundtrack. Also on the same program is MAGIC WIND, the dream wavesailing film starring top Australian sailor, Dave Sheen."
Sam.
Is that the one where Waltz sails the door? Classic. Spent many hours watching that in its day.
Soundtrack has songs I can still sing the lyrics to.![]()
Think I've still got the original video stashed away somewhere, maybe time for a trip down memory lane!
Hey Sam, another film around the time of "Magic Wind" was "Summers' a Breeze" with footage of a very young Josh Adams and some great DTL wave sailing.
Is this another Jack McCoy film, and if so, has he upgraded it?
