I am interested in doing the next Lancelin marathon but am unsure about the transportation of my gear (1xboard+2-3 sails, mast) from Sydney to Perth?!?!
I want to fly but perhaps we could share some sort of transportation of the gear?
Could team up with others wanting to do that event.
Anyone with good ideas for the logistics?....thanks!

fly Qantas and keep within limits or pay for some excess. If you can keep things down to two bags 32 kgs each you shouldn't have to pay too much.

Check their website for current luggage rates or search this web site as this topic has been discussed extensively only a month or so ago.

i believe the luggage limit on qantas for non-frequent fliers etc is only 24kg a piece? so just be aware of that.

if you are a silver frequent flier or above, or fly business class or above you get a single piece up to 32kg, roughly $30 gets you another piece of up to 32kg. Thats what i'm doing anyway. I'll be flying over roughly the same time with 2 boards + 4 sails and accessories (wave/freestyle kit).
