Any Van owners out there insure their kit kept in the Van? If so, who with?
I am looking for Insurance for theft from the vehicle at the beach or similar (parked at the shopping mall), while parked at home, and for damage in an accidient while driving around.

My ex-insurance industry wife says that contents in a vehicle are not covered if damaged in a collision, nor are they covered in the case of theft etc. She says that you would have to approach a general insurance company and find out if they would cover the gear in the situations you have nominated.

Call Westpac Insurance, they have a premium contents policy. It covers your gear anywhere in Australia except when in use on the water.
