Hey folks, just wondering what victoria point (qld) would be like this sunday, have had a look at wind wanderers and it suggests better from mid to high tide - what is wrong with mid to low tide as i'm fairly sure low tide is in the middle of the day. wind direction wise it seems good. I'm probably beginner to intermediate but haven't been out in ages

Low tide just means a longer walk from the carpark till you get to water that's deep enough to sail in. Put your gear on your head, set your compass and off you go

Low tide is when the bank is exposed (way off to the left of where you launch), with all that lovely flat water that goes along with it.

You'll have a ball.

thanks, so its just like sailing from the camp ground at lake cootharaba walk for ages for deep water. Anything to watch out for there, never sailed there before actually don't know if I've even been there before.

Start at Thompson's [something, I think it's esplanade?] carpark, rig up on the grass there. Walk your kit over the little concrete breakwall, and follow the trees on the sand until the water gets deep.

Just as you get to the deep water, look at your 10 O'clock position, this is where you want to be, about a km or two distance. So sail along on a starboard tack, watch for the channel markers, keep them on your right because you don't want to hit the mud bank at full tilt. If you do this then you will spend the next month re-nosing your board.

Chances are tomorrow you'll see some other mad windsurfers out there so you'll be right.

I would love to say that I did, but was still recovering from a late night on Friday, I will make it out sometime soon. Would like to check out VP.

Cheers
