Found this skimming through QantasLink air mag on a recent flight. It's great to see windsurfing being promoted but why WA tourism would still be using such an old stock photo beats me. And also I thought we only got water that colour up here in Queensland. Maybe someone should give Tourism WA Col's (Windsurf Australia photography) contact no. - no doubt he has many more appealing photos to choose from.

Extra points if someone knows who the sailors are and what year???

Maybe WWA could give them a bunch of the best photo's and tell Tourism WA to go for their life

The tourism WA nut is a hard one to crack. We contact them but get zero which is strange given the amount of support for the Ocean Classic.

When I saw the feature I didn't notice the age of the photo.

But then I was sat on a QantasLink BAe146, built sometime in the mid 1980s.

In the seat pocket in front of me I found a used ticket to a Suzi Quattro concert and an empty Marathon wrapper.

And I was flying into Perth airport, .......

Nope, even with the gift of sarcasm I struggle to express how **** Perth airport is.

Thanks Crasher.

Carantoc,
Yeah I wasn't so much concerned about the age of the photo but rather the quality of the water. Every photo I've ever seen of WA (mostly on here by pros and amateurs alike) the water is crystal clear. You'd think if anyone should promote WA in the most attractive light then WA Tourism should be the one.

Maybe they need a new, updated photo

Hmmm, I reckon KA87 is Mike Tyrrell.

The only place I have seen milky water in WA is near the jetty at Woodmans Point, where they mine lime (I think). Maybe that's where the shot was taken.
