WA in the winter

thinking of going to WA in july, is there sailing to be done at this time of year? I'm doing bump & jump/flat water. Can you do that sort of sailing in Margaret River? Appreciate any feedback.

July is not the best - the wind is frontal and predominantly comes from the west - anywhere from NNW to WSW which makes most coastal spots very onshore. It basically never blows from the SSW, which is the summer direction and the best for most spots.

In the metro area a lot of people tend to sail on the river, or otherwise there is Crazy waves or Woodman Point for bump and jump stuff. I certainly don't think Margaret River is going to be your spot for flat water in winter!

Maybe someone has some better suggestions for down south in July?

Dunsbourgh in the nw'sters good bump and jump (pat redman was a grom here) or gracetown for bigger waves in westerlys for experienced only
