Last weekend it was the deer - yes you have read it right - not the dear wife or the dear children but the bloody deer.
We have a creek running through our place and we recently planted 200 trees and bushes as a regeneration of the native vegetation along the creek. Put in plastic trees guards. Looked fantastic. Two weeks later the wild DEER have had fun ripping up the tree guards(not touching the plants) and shredding them. One even stood there and waved to me as I was driving the boy to school and shouted out thanks for the play things and looks like you will be putting this all back together again rather than sailing in those 15 - 20 kt westerlies this weekend. So last Saturday, whilst my wife and daughter where riding their bloody horses I was dutifully putting the tree guards back on thinking how nice Bambi steak would taste.
Anyone has a gun licence and can shoot straight? I'll provide the bed and cook breakfast.
Yeah shoot the deer.
What stops me from windsurfing. Lack of wind. I was checking out Google steet maps. I saw where I go sailing, Narrabeen Lake last summer. It seems like a dream. Warm (probably too warm) water, nice breeze of 12 to 20 knots, friendly people....
Now the same place is cold, the water colder and windless.
Besides that, it was windy last weekend but what stopped me was the a commeration of the 1902 Mount Kembla mining disaster at Mount Kembla. It was a moving experience and I shed a tear; just like our former PM Bob Hawke.
A very badly sprained tailbone from trying to learn how to snowboard might keep me from windsurfing this weekend =(
Full time work, part time study and house renovations, since I started that deadly trio my windsurfing has suffered.
I fool myself into thinking I am a windsurfer by logging onto seabreeze daily at work
Doing some damage to the back of my ribs where they meet the spine. Whole back and shoulder a mess. Stuck doing nothing for who knows how long. Physio twice a week![]()
