With the complete lack of breeze that WA has been getting over the last week or so, I've been getting back into some of my other hobbies. Ones that I can do when there is no breeze and some that I can do no matter what the weather.
So, what do the rest of us all get up to on those days away from the water?
This is one of mine

and this one another: (which also gets used with windsurfing, but hey)
Well we bought 3 acres of land in Tassie and when it is not blowing I used to grab a mattock and dig out the wattle trees that were taking over the block. After nearly 2 years I've finally got it all done. Now I'm just waiting for some more wind.
When there is no breeze here, guys sits around, showing off expensive gear and whingeing they're too good for the 15 knots that's out there.
I often go windsurfing. Cruising, racing or training in light winds can be great fun with the right gear.
I'm getting back to doing all the work ( artist) that I should have been doing when I was out sailboarding..+ cycling, horseriding , kayaking , walking ..still miss sailboarding though.I'm itching to try & improve with all the tips Ive got from this forum.By the time I get out again Ill be so B unfit I'll be using 100% effort just to sail, forget about fine tuning...grr
I'm building a cedar strip kayak.. It doubles as a 'what to do when it's dark outside' activity. In theory, once it's finished, it's still a what to do when there's no breeze thing too.
MUCH more interesting/relaxing/fulfilling than the rubbish on TV, and my 1y/o daughter likes nothing better than "helping" by tipping out buckets of wood shavings all over the workshop!
Hey Pierre, are you sure your not living at Narrabeen Lake??
You might think your OS but from what you describe Im sure your back in Sydney![]()
I've just brought a kayak and into fishing as well, so combining both. Definitely good when no wind. Caught a good size flathead this morning in the shallows with a mate. Good vibes all round!
