I'm a little more commercial-

1. Corona
2. Boags Strongarm
3. Haagen- not the yellow one (cheap malt beer, our local made a roaring trade from it- new owners no more Haagen )
4. Dark ale whose name eludes me.

Bad beers-

1. Amsterdam
2. Coopers

If your looking to expand your horizons past VB:

Chimay (blue or red) - Made by Franciscan monks in Belgium. All natural, 9%, no hangover, expensive but worth it. Best in cold weather.

Furstenburg - German malty goodness. Addictive.
www.ratebeer.com/beer/f%FCrstenberg-export/6254/

Home Grown
St Arnout - Only found it recently. Tripled filtered. Tastes noice.

And I 2nd the James Squire

I like whatever the local beer is.

Right now I am in Japan and drinking a half litre can of Sapporo. Its great.

Back in NSW I drink new from the tap and I love it. I also get Reches form the tap and its great too.

One of the best beer I had was VB from the tap at a pub in St Kilda. It was fresh beer and tasted great.

I reckon there are two important factors when it comes to beer, freshness and the water it was brewed from.

Sapporo is good.

Whilst in that region I also like Yanjing & Tsing Tao.

I enjoyed NZ for their beers.

Stella, Becks & Heineken are all a bit over-rated IMO. I would drink them anyday though over any of the mainstream aussie beers.

Another bad beer-

I'm with you Curac, except for the Carlton Draught. (used to drink it though).
But, being a parochial Taswegian, I obviously swill Boags at any given opportunity. But I've just made a New Year's Resolution, well better late than never, to write down all the top drops mentioned so far, hunt them down, and give them a go. One must broarden one's horizens, one must.
mmm, beer!

Boags

What the hell is VB. Is it supposed to be a beer?

The best beer I can find in a can is Boags Draught. Have to take cans on some trips away with the lads due to weight restrictions. Can anyone suggest a better beer in a can.
